About Carbine

Carbine stands his first season at stud in 2024. Scintillatingly fast, regally bred and extremely handsome, Carbine is one of the very last sons of Somebeachsomewhere to enter stud. Truly one of the best-looking Standardbreds of all time, Carbine is out of the Cam’s Card Shark mare Shot Togo Blue Chip thus making him a half- brother to the successful sires Heston Blue Chip and Sunfire Blue Chip.

Winner of 2 legs of The Graduate at the age of 4 (defeating the likes of Charlie May, Hellabalou and Linedrive Hanover) Carbine was a mainstay in the Preferred and Open Races at The Meadowlands and Woodbine Mohawk Park at the ages of 4 and 5 pacing no less than 20 sub 1:50 individual miles. Carbine’s last half of 51.3 on April 30, 2022 at The Meadowlands is thought to be the fastest back half ever at that oval.

Carbine represents a unique opportunity for Ohio breeders to get on the ground floor with a reasonably priced son of the legendary sire of sires Somebeachsomewhere.

Testimonials

“Carbine showed everyone the speed, gait and determination he possessed on all size tracks. Carbine’s size and conformation will be an asset as a breeding horse as he will compliment many different types of mares. Carbine raced against and defeated many of the greats in his class including Charlie May.” – trainer Tony Alagna

“I’m breeding to Carbine and I think you should too.” – Odds On Racing

Columbus, OH — The 2024 opening weekend at Eldorado Scioto Downs has come to a close. The cool night air during all three race cards may have hampered the fans on the patio, but inside establishments were full, especially Saturday night with a sold-out clubhouse.

The $27,000 Open Pace on Saturday (May 11) saw the first sub-1:50 mile of the season when Carbine (Austin Hanners) went gate-to-wire to win by a neck over Little Rocket Man (Jeremy Smith) in 1:49.2. Little Rocket Man got away fourth and pressured Carbine for the last quarter-mile, posting a :26.4 last quarter but fell just short of the win.

Carbine, a 6-year-old by Somebeachsomewhere who is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. and owned by Odds On Racing, is doing double-duty this spring as he is both breeding and racing. He has now won eight of 14 on the year with $171,395 earned, which pushes his lifetime earnings to $478,719.

Dr. J Stallion Management in conjunction with Dana Parham of Odds On Racing is excited to announce an innovative and affordable way to buy shares in top performer and new 2024 stallion Carbine p.1:47.4 $334,229 (Somebeachsomewhere- Shot Togo Blue Chip).

  • One share = 1/120th ownership of Carbine.

  • Each shareholder (owner of one share) receives 1/120th of Carbine’s net earnings for the remainder of his racing career (retroactive to January 1,2024). The plan is to race Carbine as long as he is successful in upper conditioned races.  Carbine has already earned over $27,000 this year, minus driver and trainer fees, each shareholder will have already earned about $200.00 minus expenses.

  • Shareholders will be responsible for all racing associated expenses but in no event shall a shareholder owe money at the conclusion of a racing season. If Carbine doesn’t earn as much as his racing costs no money will be due.

  • Race winnings to be distributed by January 15th of the following year.

  • One share entitles the shareholder to 1 free breeding per year, breedings may be used, sold or pooled.

  • Shareholders responsible for all expenses related to Carbine’s breeding career, including but not limited to advertising, staking and board.

The price per share is $4,000. This offer expires February 15,2024. If you have any questions, require more information or would like to purchase a share please contact Dr. Bridgette Jablonsky at [email protected] or (717) 578-7395.
